Quick question: I borrowed my buddies 7 string and broke the High F...No idea how I did it ...but what can you do smug: ....What guage is it?..(it is wound)

LOL...just reviewed my post...not sure why the motocon didnt come up..it was smug...as you can tell...
BTW...they are original string guages and type..what ever that is!

The original Conklin Snakeskin sets had a wound F of .022. The new SIT-made snakeskins have an option of a wound .020. Such thin wounds naturally have thin cores that make them delicate, many people use a plain .018 or .020 instead which is much stronger. I'd ask him which string he had on it and try to replace it with that. I'd be a bit upset if somebody broke my .150 B-string and replaced it with a .135.

Although ixlramp's probably got the right answer.

Yup ...

You can buy single high Fs from the Conklin site.

Most string sites have 18-20

They break often and are cheap
