Conklin GT-7 seven string - string options?

Sign in to disble this ad
Just got a GT-7 on Ebay. It has the Dean Markley 7 string set on it currently. There doesn't seem to be a large number of 7-string sets available. What are my options? Any flatwound sets, or only roundwound? How about nickel?

you can buy single strings from conklin guitars or other online string dealers.

I got my old gT-7 at home right now, and the new owner has strung it with an elixir 6 set and a SIT 165 for the F# string.

Dean Markley has a "Will Lee" sig 7-string set. Same basic string as you get w/Snakeskins off of Bill Conklin's site. Bill also has a nice set done by SIT on his site. DR will make a custom set for you from their existing offerings...like DR Hi Beam 125, 105, 85, 65, 45, 35, 25...generally a music store selling DR's can make that happen. Ken Smith has a 7-string set.
