| they are re-packaged dean markley sr2000 strings, the will lee signature set. they are what come stock on the groove tools basses.
i use and love the sr2000s, but i don't like the gauges in the will lee set - the A, D and G are too heavy, imo, and the low B is too light. instead, i get custom gauges direct from dean markley.
all the strings larger than the G string in the SR2000's/snakeskins are tapered, but not all the way down to the core. rather, they are down to the last winding - makes them tougher, less prone to breakage, but they still are able to be intonated very well.
