Contacting DR

Ive been a fan of DR strings for a few years now, I've probably spent enough money to put my kids through college on their strings. Lately though I've been getting a lot of 'dead out of the box' sets, mainly on the E and A strings. I even had 2 out of 8 custom ordered .115 strings DOA on me.

What is the best way to contact DR about their quality control? I don't want to go off like a foul mouthed trucker, but at the same time I would like my complaint taken seriously. What would be the best approach?

Take it right to the top. Write a letter to the president of the company. I would...

I did write a letter to drstaff@drstrings.com, how far that gets remains to be seen. I was polite, and I addressed my concerns without using the F word.

Well I got a response from DR. Anthony Corona emailed me back, and has been most helpful. He was more than willing to replace the bunk strings. I think he has posted here before.

How many other companies would do something like this?

I custom order my .115s from my local Mom&Pop Broadway Music for $8 a piece. That's almost half of what JustStrings.com wants for the same string after taxes and shipping. Just can't beat it!

I usually pick up DRs at GC. My drummer spends so much money there that they GIVE him strings for me when he goes shopping haha.

I love DR, I asked Anthony if I could get my own signature set.

I can't help but think Bass Emporium has the right strings (Sunbeams) at the right price. At least for me.

Yup, they do. I needed a tapred B, like my Lakland came with. Local shop ordered me two, and they came in SS> Whoops, I;m a nickle guy. I emailed DR adn SHAZZAM a few days later two nickle rounds come to the door. Very cool.

Reminds me, I need some 'Beams. Went to nickle Lo's ont eh 34, but dont need the tension on the Lakland.

I just ordered some Lo-Riders from elderlyinstruments, com , they had to special order. So it takes about two more weeks to ship> But they were 6 or 7 dollars cheaper than GC. Around 20 bucks, I don't know if you can get them anywhere else for cheaper? To me it was a heck of a deal. And not buying thru GC made me even happier!

Juststrings is a ripoff for DR strings...

I tried to purchase some .115s from them. they wanted $13 a piece. My local shop got them for me for under $9 a piece.
