A Crime to put $40 flats on a $100 SX? Ernie to the Rescue!

Had to buy one more SX Jazz before the headstock change.
Killer bass, love the neck, pups, etc and this once came with good (albeit very thin) roundwounds.
Problem is, I'm into flats and can not seem to find a way to EQ a flats sound on roundwounds; band noticed this immediately.
How can you spend $40-$50 on a set of strings for a $100 bass? The Ernie Ball rep gave me a set! Love these strings and am suprised I haven't read more about them here.

Any comments and do they maintain their slight brightness for long? I hope so.

Free is the best price...
It will take a while of playing for that to happen....but you might like them better that way.

How can you afford a set of strings when you've spent $3k on a 'pro' bass?
