Curious: What 6 string set is this? Tapered BEA and D

Even the D is tapered by one winding! I'm pulling them off my new to me 6'er, as they are all buzzing above the 12th fret from hanging too low on the bass, but I was curious.

Brass ball ends. I think they're steel, as they're old, but still pretty bright.

Any ideas?

S.I.T. has a Power Core set that all have exposed cores but the G string. They also have a Taper Core set.


Not sure if they have 6-string sets though.

I just saw in another thread that Labella produces carvin strings, and these just may be original to the bass, there is some greyish funkiness starting on them.... I'm looking at juststrings.com, but it gives only guages, not whether they're tapered.

I just bought a set of DR Long Necks for my 5-string and they all have tapered ends except for the G.
