Curt mangan strings

I ordered a set of Curt Mangan nickel strings for my Stambaugh. These strings are really nice. They are not overly bright and IMO have a suttle broken in feel to them. They have a real smooth and even string response, and harmonics ring out nicely as well. Chris is going to these as his custom strings so I thought I would give them a go. Definitely impressed. Sometimes the little guys just know where it's at. If you order them from the website there is a good chance that they were made within the last week.

Scott @ Birdsong uses the Mangan rounds on his creations; they have been getting rave reviews.

At the NAMM show in January, I visited the Curt Mangan booth with my guitar player friend who's an endorser and he introduced me to Mr. Mangan himself. He said, "Oh, you play bass? Try these and tell me what you think..." and gave me a pack of 45-105 strings.

I put them away for a while but didn't get to them until now.

I recently put them on a fretless Musicman Stingray. Didn't like the tone. Didn't like the gauge. No biggie, since I really need very light gauge strings on the fretless.

So then i took them off the fretless and immediately transplanted them on my fretted Stingray.

WHOA!!!!!!!!!!

Really nice. Nice zing, but nice warmth too. Really takes advantage of the Stingray tone.
Highly recommended (just not for fretlesses)!

I've been using them for quite a while now. The local store started carrying them and as usual I had to try them out. I love, well my DJ5 loves, the nickels but have not really gotten into the SS. I am always experimenting with strings just to see what the hoopla might be about. The Manguns are consistently good and I have never had an issue with them.

I've got them on my MIA J-bass. I definitely prefer them over Slinky's. Nice strings at a nice price

Great strings. They are the most perfect string I've found for G&L L2500's.
