Custom String Gauges?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys whats going on? I had a very important question that I need to find an answer for ASAP. Well it looks like I need to go custom when it comes to gauges of the strings I put on my Zon.

I currently use DR LoRiders 45-130 on my Zon Legacy Elite 5 string. Now the thing is, our cover band tunes 1/2 down. Which means its Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb. Now the regular strings seem to be very loose when I play. sound is amazing, but the feel of it is driving me insane! I love to dig in hard when I play songs and I'm having a tough time playing above the neck pickup because its so loose, it hits the strings below/above the one I'm playing.

Now, I'm thinking of going 50-70-90-110-135. Now would I go bout getting a custom set like that? Juststrings.com only sells custom gauges up to 0.125 from what I've seen.

Any suggestions? Any would help at the moment

D

JustStrings sells all kinds of brands, with some going all the way to .145 (D'addario). I think D'addario makes a 110-50 4-string set, so you could just add the B.

Why detune at all with a 5 string?
The only note you would ever miss is the low b flat.

It's not like you are playing open position chords right? slide down 1.

That's just me though...
