O.K, I have just bought a pack of "silver star extra life coated strings for my Ibanez sr 506 which won't arrive for a month or more, and am wondering if anybody else has tried them out and could maybe post some pics,as I am curious to see if they look like normal nickel wounds or are they a dramatic silver color?

I've never used Silver Stars. Only colored DRs I've used were Black Beauties.

They will probably be just like they appear - very silver! I think DR does a good colored string.

As far as sound, they are like a dead string with added life and brightness, if that makes sense. Compressed sounding I suppose.

And the tension is relatively high, which can be nice.
