I was told by a reputable online retailer that the D.R. brand of strings are briter sounding than average. I have a set of Sunbeams on my bass and I tend to agree. Anyone noticed this, or not. Thanks

In general they do lean toward the "brighter" side of sound, although not as bright and metallic sounding as Rotos. I myself use Lo-Riders and love them. For me they offer just the right balance of lower midrange and middle highs I want out of my MIA Jazz.

The DR neons are slightly brighter then rotosounds which are among the least bright stainless strings I know of and are my fave strings. Now that my neons are getting into their broken in sound I find the treble content remains but does shift a little for balance between low thru upper treble. Not yet sure if I like them as well as rotosounds newly broken in sound yet.
