Can anyone compare the .045 (ENR71) set to the .050 (ENRO72) set? Is there a noticeable string tension difference, sound difference?

thanks

The larger set will have higher tension.

I recommend studying the www daddario tension chart pdf. Extremely useful. Also, if you go to the D'Addario webpage for the sets, the tension for each string is shown

I use/have used both those of those for about 40 years and cant tell any noticable difference between the 2.I now use a set of enr 70 on one jazz bass, the other jazz is set up with a custom set of Daddario 1/2 rounds made up of a .30 and 2 sets (enr 71 and 72 using 050 .65 .85) I used it on the weekend and loved how they sounded-much nicer than the TI flats and rounds I had previously tried on theJazz .Still use TI flats on my P basses.
