D'Addario Chromes ROCK!

I have spent the better part of the day playing my OLP TL sig with a new set of Chromes, and man! These strings kill on this bass!

I've been using the stock (cheapo) stings, and I've wanted to tame some of the crispness of the bass. I was hoping that once the roundwounds died, they'd get some of that old school vibe, but they've really stayed bright.

The Chromes are pretty bright out of the box, but they're already wearing in to a nice growly tone without so much of that high end zing from the roundwounds.

I'm looking forward to these string wearing in a little more. I'm getting a great older vibe with the Chromes. The midrange growl is definitely still there, but without so much click and clack.

My experience as well - I've got them on my jazz bass and they smooth\fatten things up quite a bit. And it's nice to slide up for an upper range fill without that squeak. I've had mine for a few months now and they sound great - no sign of deadening...
