I'm an XL guy. I use .50 - .110, medium gauge. I believe these are the XL160. Next time I buy a pack I'm probably going back to .45 - .105.

Chrome flats are the only D'addario strings I've ever touched that I thought were worth a flip. Those chromes, however, are the best sounding/playing flats out there IMHO.

It's .50 - .105, not .50 - .110.

Most of the time on my USA G&L L1505 I use the super long XLs strung through the body.

If i can't get them, I use the regular length and install the b and E string through the bridge and the A,D, and G through the body.

XL Nickels, EXL 170 .45-.100 4-strings on my '65 eb0 and as soon as I get some time to head off to the music store I'm going to pick up a pack for my rbx374 as well.

D'Addario strings ftw! I love the feel and sound of the Nickels. I'm using EXL165 right now, but i'll be changing to the 170s soon!

I go with EXL-170's on everything:
fretted/fretless, 4/5-string and 34"/35".
I like to have the same feel of strings whatever bass i play.
