Anyone have experience with these? I recently purchased a used bass and the store threw in a set. I've been using flats for years, but never tried these. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I believe you are talking about the 81s (or is it 80s) Either way, have them on my Kramer 650B. Decent sounding flat, with pretty good feel.

For the $$$ they are a great string.

I use them on my P-bass and love them. They are certainly not as "thuddy" as, say, LaBellas - they have some top end to them. I find that by playing with the bass' tone controls I can achieve a range from old-school to modernish. I've started using a pick, and that sounds pretty good too. I don't think they would be good for slapping, though. They also feel great under the fingers!
