D'addario Half Rounds

I just put these on my Ibby SG305. When I played them by myself I thought they had all the twang and pop I hated in new rounds. Once I played them with the band I loved where they sat in the mix. I will be using them for both my shows this weekend, I can't wait to hear them with the full sound system!

A perfect example of how different our sound perception can be! I was missing the fundamental bass sound with these strings on my Ibanez.

For the same reason the moon looks larger when viewed with a mountain next to it, and the sun looks larger at sunrise/sunset. Perspective changes a lot with we have something to compare it by. I don't know how many times I come to practice with a riff or new sound only to discover it simply doesn't work with the rest of the band. Gotta try me some ground or pressure wounds.

I put these on my Squier VM liked 'em around the house but went to a gig and found myself looking for more high end

I'll see how they sound gigging tonight. I will use this bass for half the set, and my VM Jag with rotosound flats for the rest

Just replaced a set of La Bella original 1954 flats with these on my CIJ '62 reissue P and love 'em around the house... might be the holy grail, but we'll see how they gig. I'm intrigued by their sticky feel. I know the '54's were not for me, a .110 E string is just too thick to qualify as a "string" anymore.

I've been using D'addario half rounds on my precision since the 70's - I do like the way the set in the mix, but also i'm not a big fan of high treble and they give me the right tone & growl- they sustain really well [for me anyway]- the sound is little less pronounced on my jazz bass (Fender 08 MIM)
but I still like them better then the flats it came with.

Now, go the rest of the way, and try flats.

I have a set on a bass and like the tone, but I find them "sticky" for some reason. Has anyone else had this? Any remedies? They are new.
