In 2013 they will be releasing XL Nickel Balanced Tension Bass String Sets!
So far that is the only firm information I have. No information on gauges etc YET.
Will post more information as it becomes available! |

I don't know if my set is balanced, but I know it's the best sounding and feeling combo I tried. I just bought a bunch of singles from Jason at BSO and spent about a week testing on my Spector NS-2J. Magic happened when I hit upon 42-55-75-105 with XL's.

Can someone please explain what exactly a balanced tension set means? I suspect it means that tension is the same in each string? Is this the case and why is this good? |

Will these be available in short scale? Any word on them selling short scale singles again? I had to switch to GHS Bass Boomers because they do sell singles.

I wonder if they'll wreak havoc on old necks used to unbalanced tension for 30+ years? |

There is no "official" announcement but starting in 2013 they will be making all of the strings they manufacturer available as singles as well as some new ones not currently available in sets.
This means, single Chromes, single Short Scale, single Half-Rounds, Singles Singles Singles!
Yes GHS does sell singles for their Short Scales, but really the only string you need to get in a short is the E string. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
