D'Addario XL 220's?

i read a book about bass playing and it said that D'Addario XL 220's are best for the beginner. I have been playing for about a year & i play a mixture of rock & indie. What strings do u think would be best & are D'Addario 20''s a good idea?

D'Addario are the best strings around (in my opinion). Try varying your guage ratings on your strings to find the sound that is you.
