D'Addario XL 280's...

Sign in to disble this ad
I just ordered a set of D'Addario's piccolo bass strings, the XL280's. The gauges are .052, .042, .032, .020, low to high. I'm just wondering if these strings could actually be tuned up an octave above the traditional "EADG" bass tuning without putting too much tension on my neck or making one of the strings snap. So, any of you out there that have played with these strings before or at least a piccolo bass, could you give me some advice? Thanks.
