From dAddario XL to DR Hi-Beams - noise?

I can't believe I'm getting a lot more noise in my amp since changing to DR Hi-Beams is this a typical problem? Is there a big difference in the pick up inductance/capacitance going from a nickel string to a SS string?

No, but there's a huge difference in the amount of pull the neck will have with any round core DR vs. hex core D'addario. You'll need to loosen the truss rod to get the same amount of neck relief the XL's had.

SS are inherently much brighter. Turn your treble down.
