D'Addario XL super long

Can I use a set of D'Addario XL super long scale strings on a Fender P bass. I bought them for a long scale (35") bass that i no longer have.

you can, but you might end up getting the wound part of the strings going around the post, at least on the E string. not a huge deal to me, but some people don't like it.

Will it damage the nut from the added pressure?

not at all. there is no added pressure.

I was thinking because the thicker part of the string will be winding around the post it would crate more of an angle on the string from the nut to the post.

it could but that won't hurt the nut.
