| What's even more amazizng is that I sold D'Addario strings and in 11 years we had customer complaints about only five or six strings (individual strings, and I'm comparing that number to ALL the D'Addario strings I've sold- guitar (electric, acoustic, silk 'n' steel, and nylon), mandolin, dulcimer, banjo, and electric bass). I had some trouble with the original stainless bass sets (XLS-570) with two dead E strings out of the pack in two years.
I only started using DRs because I was using D'Addarios on a string-through bridge (original Music Man StingRay) and they changed the specs sometime around 1990 so the stock strings wouldn't fit on an STB instrument. I had to special order the extra long sets and eventually it got to be too big a hassle. No problem with the strings and they're still the only strings I use on my guitars.
