Dan Armstrong Plexi Bass Strings

Sign in to disble this ad
I am getting ready to restring a vintage Dan Armstrong Plexi bass and wondered if anyone has any experience with different types of strings on this beast. The strings on her now are ancient, 20+ years old, and the sound is very mid-rangie. (Is that a word???)

I can always go with the usual Rotosound Roundwounds but thought someone might have used something else on one of these basses in the past and had good results.

Thanks...LC

Mid heavey.

Also, if the strings are 20+ years old they probably are rotosound flats. Or labella....Ehhh.

Mid heavy...thanks bigbass94

Knowing the player this bass came from, I expect they are Rotosounds cause that's all he ever used. They are roundwounds so I guess that's what I'll go back with and hope that new strings won't be so mid heavy.
