Question Db, Ab, Db, Gb strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking to switch to rounds again after playing flats for a while. Recorded with La Bella (Jamerson set) flats and dig the recording, but want a bit more cut/punch live. Playing a Lakland JO right now, 99% of the time fingerstyle. Any suggestions on brand? the DDT strings seem interesting!

Have a listen to the recordings and let me know what you think:

I like the Slinky's, and the set with a .110 E string would work great for your tuning.

Circle K Strings - Standard Balanced 4 Strings

Tension balanced sets for any amount of detuning.

Can't wait for this to become popular, with most sets as you detune the top string becomes way too loose compared to the rest. Note to manufacturers: Offer balanced tension sets!

+1

Look up TBer knucklehead he'll set you up. He builds and plays a 4 banger tuned an octave lower on each string. I think he can get you a set to get the right size string and tension you need.

Rotosound R-66's work great. The only strings I use and my current band tunes down for some songs.

Thanks for the advice! Those Circle Ks look interesting for sure! I'll try and find a UK dealer!

Just got back from a show where my strap broke 2/3 of the way through. No spare. Massive fail. Felt a little like the Anthony Jackson of 'Emocore' for the last couple songs of the set.

Note to self 'don't rock too hard!'

They're mail order only from the website, there are no UK dealers Unfortunately the shipping costs are somewhat high to Europe.
