i picked up this bass a week or two ago (bad memory at 15) and hate the strings on it. will Ernie Ball super slinkys be okay?

I would stick to acoustic bass strings. I wouldn't risk using anything else on my ABG.

I'm going to put some flatwounds on it for a deep bass tone with no finger noise.

Trevor I have used light scale DR and D'addario strings on my Washburn with no trouble. I am waiting on a set of status tapewounds now. It the strings are not to heavy or high tension you should be alright. I do not use my acoustic unplugged. I like the sort of woody thumpy tone.

thanks i just ordered Fender 9050L Stainless Flatwound Bass strings so I should be alright. I removed the strings that were on my bass and i dont get the flatwounds in a week or so. So I have to play my Squier Vintage Modified 70's Jazz bass with DEAD Rotosounds (ugh)
