Can somebody give an update on the base specs on Dean Markley strings?
They have a set named "roundcore" which obviously is round core, and probably nickel plated steel (nps).
Then there is "super round" which according to BSO are round core and stainless steel (ss).
They have the "blue steel" (cyro treated) in both ss and nps, presumably with a hex core?
The "nickelsteel" (on guitar my favorites except for the gauge choices) and obviously nps and presumably hex core?
There there is "helix" (their twisted thing) in both nps and ss, is that hex core?
Finally the SR2000s which are tapered at the bridge and sound-wise obviously SS.
Or as a table:
DM roundcore round nps
DM super round round ss?
DM bluesteel hex? ss? cyro treated
DM bluesteel nps hex? nps cyro treated
DM helix SS hex? ss twisted
DM helix NPS hex? nps twisted
DM nickelsteel hex? nps my guitar equivalent
DM sr2000s hex? ss bridge taper
Does this look correct?
I really don't like these puzzles. One of the strongest reasons why I often end up with DR is that they clearly state what you get. (except DR has messy naming)
