Dean Markley SR2000 users...???

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello kind people,
I just tried a set of SR2000 Will Lee's and I noticed that the D string had considerably more tension than the other strings. I really had to wrench the tuning peg to get it to pitch and its harder to bend than the EA&G.
Has anyone else noticed this with their sets and/or is this normal?
Thanks for reading my question.

I've used the will lee set off and on for years and never noticed that. In fact I think they respond particulary evenly.

I wonder if you somehow got two A strings in the pack?

Thanks for the reply Pickles...
I thought about that but it definitely appears to be a different diameter...maybe the core is an A when it should be a D.

Dunno...it is weird.

I have to agree with pickles here, that seems rather unusual.

I use the Will Lee 6-string set and I think the gauges are a little funky. I seem to recall the D has a lot more tension than the rest, while the low B is a little loose for my tastes. Something about all the gauges ending in 7...
