detuning a gibson sg

Sign in to disble this ad
hi everyone.

I'm gonna detune my gibson sg bass to C F A# D#. it is, as you probably know, a shortscale, so I was wondering if any of you guys had any string suggestions. I've been using GHS bass boomers 107-50 for some time, but that's mostly due to not having much money and the music store in my town not carrying a wide variety of strings.. I want some more string tension than I've got atm. do you have any experience with detuning a shortscale bass?

sorry if this has been answered before. this is my first post here, I'm happy to join the community!
