Did Chris Squire Ever Use Flats?

Asking because i've noticed his sound is a little more... flat on some songs in comparison to others. I've noticed it in sections of 'Close To The Edge' and parts of 'Yours Is No Disgrace'. Just curious.

ive read somewheres that he used flats on Long Distance Runaround, and that never made sense to me. I don't think he did on anything before 1975. just my speculation tho.

I hear a good bit of 'growl' on The Remembering around 12-13 minutes in. But then again you can get tone like that with flats.

Well I'm not saying he played fretless all the way through The Remembering.

I just came across an interview where he says he played some fretless on Close to the Edge and Awaken. He doesnt mention flats or rounds tho.

They're playing at the House Of Blues in Houston on the 24th, you should go and ask him.

He often used other basses besides Rickenbakers in the 70s. I read that during one section of TFTO he even used an acoustic bass guitar of some sort, although I am not sure of what type, probably an Ernie Ball Earthwood. He used a Fender Jazz on much of the stuff from the early albums including "Sweet Dreams" and A Gibson Thunderbird on a couple of tracks on Tormato. On the Acoustic DVD a few years back he used a fretless
Martin ABG, as well as Tobias and Mooradian basses during the 90125/Big Generator/Talk era. As on the question of flats, they have never been listed in the equipment section of any of his Bass Player interviews nor anyplace else I have read.
