| 7250s are a nice nickel plated steel round wound just like the EB slinkies. Many claim they do not have as much highes as many, but I find them to be plenty bright and slap well on a maple board P bass. They are smooth as most nickel rounds are compared to steel. I have not played EB slinkies for a while, but my memory says the Fenders are better down low. Clear, strong, and punchy. I personally would say the 7250s are just a better nickel than the EBs. But I prefer 45-100. 40 and 60 on the D and G can be thin. In the 40-100 ball park, Hard Rockin' Steels from Labella are pretty good.
Never played 7150. Tons of info in the search archives on these. They are higher tension, less bright string that many love. If you are trying to eliminate highs relative to your EBs, these may be a place to go. |
