I found the 760FS set a bit too tight. The 760FL set has a more balanced feel.

I've never used the FS, but I do like the FL's. They seem to have more mids and a better pick tone than the FM's.

I started with the FMs - too heavy and inflexible, I found anything other than simple and solid a challenge to play. I then went to the FLs - much better but would have liked a heavier feel so went with the FS which I think is the best pick of the bunch - has a slightly heavier feel than the FL and consequently has a thicker tone which to my ears is perfectly balanced between strings. Moving to the D string is still thick bass on par with the A string. I wouldn't class the tension as being anything to worry about, unlike the FMs!

You mean string to string balance?

I have the FMs on my P, FL's on my J. I far prefer the sound of the FMs but yeah they are hefty to move.

I considered the FS's on my J but was put off by reviews saying the middle strings were a bit tighter than the others.

This is what FLs sound like on a jazz...
