Different scale length strings on 1 bass, possible?

here's my issue. i have a 67 fender coronado bass that has a trapeze bridge with tailpiece. i use labella FL strings.

try short scale, and they're too short. so i get medium scale and they all work EXCEPT the G string is too short (doesn't even go around the peg once).

So can i have the 3 lower strings be medium scale and have the G string be a long scale? or is that bad?

any suggestions?

i see labella has a "beatle bass" set. maybe i should give that a shot. sounds like it would be made for the trapeze bridge thing. well see. thoughts?

I don't see where it would create a problem, so long as everything fits, and sounds good.

im just not sure if different scale lengths mean different tension.

i put the long scale G string on and it seems to work. doesn't feel like a difference in tension or anything.

so it will stay until someone tells me i'm doing it all wrong

otherwise, i'm happy i have labella flats on my 67 fender coronado
