Difficult question (acoustic bass guitar)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there,

I'm doing somekind of an experiment. The thing is, I've got a problem...

I've got a 5 string bassguitar (acoustic) and I want it tuned like this:
A = 0.080
D = 0.065
G = 0.045
C = 0.030/0.035
F = 0.015/0.020

So it's from our "2nd string" A up to F

But I can't find the strings I want.

I've got 2 requirements:
1 - Bronze strings
2 - At least 100cm (39,37 inch)

Does anybody know which strings I can buy or does anybody got an alternative?

Thanks in advance!

You can use the top 4 strings from a 6-string set of Thomastik-Infeld Acousticores:

(you can buy single strings here: http://www.juststrings.com/phosphorb...lestrings.html)

And then use the top string from the LaBella Nylon-Core Piccolo set. It's meant to be tuned up to G, but it works just fine tuned down a full step:

(http://www.juststrings.com/lab-abn70bb.html - you'll have to buy the full set, though you might try using some of the other strings if you like the gauges better).

So that would get you these gauges:

A = .068
D = .053
G = .041
C = .035
F = .022

Those are the top 5 strings I'm using on my 6-string Kinal ABG. Though I've got them tuned down a minor 3rd most of the time.
