disposal of acetone

Sign in to disble this ad
i tried cleaning my strings with acetone, and it worked like a champ! almost as good as brand new.

i am thinking of buying a larger size container of acetone and cleaning all my old sets of strings (which i have kept like a pack rat).

question. once i have cleaned all my old strings, (since it is poisonous) how should i dispose of the acetone?

would using denatured alchohol do better or the same, and any different with the disposal of that?

mm

denatured alcohol is what this guy uses... he keeps it in the tube and only gets rid of it when it's gunky...

we use a ton of acetone in my chem lab, we just toss it down the sink. if you're worried about it, you could just let it evaporate.
