I used to use Blue Steels exclusively. Great strings that last long, have great finger style tone, and great slap tone. I have since switched to DR Hi-Beams as I like the slightly lower tension, but the Blue Steels will always be an old favorite of mine.

I don't much like Blue Steels. I find them to be abrassive to the touch, and they break easily.

Nice bright tone on the other hand.

I use Ernie Ball Super Slinkys,
Marcus miller and bootsy use DR, so i guess they'd be good for slapping.

Depending on the acidity of your hands, Blue Steels can die quickly (my hands are very acidic). +1 on the rough feel. Get DRs or Ernie Balls.

i have blue steels and i like them, but i'd like a bit lower tension.

they sound great for slap though, especially the lower strings. real great tone.
