I do to save shipping cost and to have peace of mind.
I got from Juststrings.com 3 sets of Hi-beams, 4 sets of Lo-Riders, 4 sets of GHS Progressive and 2 sets of DA EXL190.
With a little help from denatured alcohol, I hope I don't need to buy strings until 2012.

I generally buy more stings than I need, but it's better than not having them when you need them.

I just noodle around for the time being until I can find another band I fit in with. Nowadays I'd only buy in bulk if I have the scratch, find a great deal, or if a particular favorite string is being discontinued. I did the latter on my beloved and extinct Prisms.
