I find that they don't have the tension for hard slapping. Something like DR FatBeams are really made for it, while the JRs are what I consider a great fingerstyle string. They certainly weren't designed for slapping. It seems like you would have to really back off on your slap and pop effort and have a very light touch with muting to make them work.

Yes and no. I've heard better, but it's certainly passable. Your electronics and EQ settings can really make up for it, but the Jazz Rounds definitely have a darker tone. I just got some Elixer Nano Webs last night from that string trial thing Elixer did a while back, and they sound much better for slap, very bright and snappy.

I kinda like the sound I get out of my Jazz Rounds, though. It's a thicker, more Larry Graham'ish sound. The only thing I don't like is that the thumps don't ring as much as I'd like, but I think that's more poor technique on my part.
