strings

Dadario says long scale... I have a 35 in scale bass and had to contact D'addiro... they sent me a 4 string set and a B string and C string that were from different sets...So No d'addiao doesn't make a 6 string set to fit a 35 in scale bass. they know this...If you want a set that fits look at DRs....

my 2 cents worth

In short:

D'Addario Short fits instruments where Ball End to Nut is up to 32"
D'Addario Medium fits instruments where Ball End to Nut is 32" - 34"
D'Addario Long fits instruments where Ball End to Nut is 34" - 36"
D'Addario Super Long fits instruments where Ball End to Nut is 36" - 38"

So depending on your instrument / bridge configuration, Long Scale may fit...

Now, if you want a 6 string set... Its pretty easy... Get a 4 string set in the gauges you like... Add the appropriate Low-B string and High-C string.

They have 13 different Low-B strings available between .120 - .145 in both Taper and Long / Super Long variety...

They only "Pre-Package" sets of strings they move mass quantities of...

So if you find you do need a "Super Long" 5 or 6 string set... Grab a pack of Super Long 4 strings and add a Super Long Low-B and a High-C and you are golden...

You would probably be safest to get the SL (Super Long) just to be safe. A little longer won't hurt but too short won't work. At least, not well.

Save yourself some trouble and order the Super Long set. I've been a long time user of D'addario strings and their Super Long fit all top load 35" scale basses that I've owned.
The B & E windings will most likely stop short of the nut on the Long sets. The only exception would be basses with very unique head stocks (shorter from nut to HS end) and bridges (less distance from rear of saddle to back of bridge).

This. A little more than .02 worth!

I'd order from Welcome to Bass Strings Online - Lay it down... as well. Discount to TB members, incredible service and custom-combination sets tailored for you! Prices are as low as you're gonna find.
