Does Ernie Ball actually manufacture strings?

Or is this just another "manufacturer's private label"? I happen to love slinkys, and have never found another string that is exactly like them, so I'm curious who OEMs them if EB isn't actually running winders.

I believe Ernie Ball started as a string company - check out this link for the official history:

That link suggests that Ernie Ball started buying string wholesale in his own choice of gauges...

I've been curious about this myself. I've used EB's exclusively for over 15 years. I've been curious about trying other strings, but haven't for that fact that the EB's are just damn good.

Ernie Ball makes their own strings but they use D'Addario string winding machines.
