Question Does Fender Make A Flatwound With No Silkwrap?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was trying to determine what flats I had on my 50's Precision and I could have sworn the last set I purchased for them were Fender.
But I recall Fender's flats having a green silk wrap.

Any ideas?

Dont think so? I believe they have the green silk on the ball end of the string. No silk on other end.

The old Fender flats that came stock on their basses (860s?) until the '70s had green silks.

Now they are only silked at the ball-ends, as mentioned previously.
