i have a vintage bass eb3 loved the sound and decided to change old strings with d'addario exl ,terrific, much more metallic even after 3 months,
i search for strings not so metallic but roundwounds, and attempted to choose swingbass 66 ,is it a good option for my research?
ideal for me is to have old strings as fast as possible...and not metallic sound...
thanks

Rotos are very metallic sounding to start with but go dead very quickly which may or may not be what you are looking for
