Doom/Stoner metal guys, Flats or rounds?

Right now I have rounds on my pbass that I use for this style (tuned to drop b) and I'm wondering if the deeper tone of flats would be better? Also, what gauge strings would I need to tune that low?

Any 5-string set should work just fine. I'm a rounds fan and a Circle K strings fan (the Balanced 150 is what I use for my 4- and 6-string basses). TI Flats get a lot of love around here and seem to have a decent B-string, so if you do lean toward flats, they might be worth a try.

I would NOT recommend TI flats for 5-string, nor stoner rock - get something with some more tension, maybe GHS precision flats (affordable and great!)

I used to use Roto 66 Drop Zones tuned BEAD on my P. Comfortable medium-low tension and a beautiful high end on them. I never even considered flats!
