Sign in to disble this ad
I have a little problem with a long neck.
I am desperately seeking double ball end strings for my Schack carbon V which has a 36" neck!!
Any idea where I can find those?

Not sure, www.juststrings.com would be a good start though

They have just the steinberger sets which I think have no 36" neck.

Check with the guys at Status-Graphite. They make a lot of different double-ball sets and seem pretty open to custom sets

Status graphite are your best bet, if there's something you want and can't see it then email or phone them, they've added to their string selection, but because they are about to change their website they haven't yet updated the existing one.

Thank's a lot for your posts. I will check with juststrings.com (but they are for 35" scale necks) and status-graphite.

Hmm...What strings are on the bass now? Maybe you could ask the people at Shack about it?

Ken Smith Basses makes a 36" double ball 5-string set. The strings themselves are 36" end to end, not sure if that will fit for you...

At the moment I'm using DR's which are fixed with a set screw. But there was a sound problem I couldn't get out a clean tone any more. So for a try I put on a set of almost 7 year old Schack double ball end string, and the phenomenon disappeared.

Schack made strings at the time. But Andy Schack stopped his business some years ago .....It seems that he is in the Koi carp business now ....

I got my first answer from Ken Smith, judge yourself:

"Sorry, we only have the regular ones. Ask the people that made your Bass.

Thank you,

Ken Smith"

I think one problem is, that the scale length is 36" and the end to end size of the strings should be around 97 cm or 38"

Just for information:
I found somebody who can sell what I need. It's Clover basses from Germany. All others mentioned before were not able to provide for double ball end strings for super long scale basses!!
