double bass strings

Sign in to disble this ad
hello there does anyone know the best set of double bass strings to use with magnetic pickups, i am looking for a steel core with a different coating ie nylon something softer than just plain steel i play rockabilly slapping plus plucking blues etc. i have been looking at the eurosonic lights strings and a company called pesto which are steel core with nylon outer none of which are available in the uk. does anyone know of any other strings which are a bit cheaper and more friendlier to my fingures. i went all through the 1980s and 1990s making me fingures bleed blisters etc don't want to go through it again please advise if anyone knows cheers kev

If you have not done it already, you should also post this on the Double bass / uprights forum
