Down tuned TI flats

How do TI Flats hold up for tuning in a half step down (Eb)? I've only played them once in standard tuning, and some people here seem to say they already have too low of tension. I was thinking about trying them out but wanted to get some opinions before I buy.

A lot of people don't seem to like TI's even in standard tuning due to the low tension. I happen to love them and plan to use them forever on my Fender J. I did have D'Addario Chromes on it and after a practice session with my band, my fingers were torn up. to me, playing on Chromes feels like playing on fencing wire. Some people dig them. That's fine.

Anyway, I say all this to conclude that the Chromes may be a better option detuned than TI's. They are definitely cheaper. Something to consider...

I tried TIs tuned down a half step and thought they were way too loose. I can maybe deal with it while noodling around at home but not on the gig where I tend to dig in more. I can barely tolerate TIs in standard tuning - too bad because I dig the tone.
