Sign in to disble this ad
Just seeing if anyone has has some experience with the new DR DDT strings for drop tuning i have 2 sets ordered to put on my P Bass and Marcus Miller Jazz

I play in D standard tuning and currently have a set of DR LO RIDERS 125 strung to a 4 string

I guess i just dont want the new string to be to floppy

I like high tension strings and I thought the 115 set was really tight in D standard. If you can handle a 125 LoRider tuned all the way up to D (glad to know it didn't break ), it should be no problem. They won't be floppy.

I have the .055-.135 set on a bass (which I think is the same as the .115 set, only with an additional low-B string) that is tuned down 1/2 step below standard. Based on my experience, you will be fine. The strings have are pretty tight in Bb-Gb tuning and I have no doubt that they would hold up well if dropped them another 1/2 step or even another whole step below what they are tuned to now. They also have fantastic tone. I think you will like them a lot.
