DR Fat Beam and Hi Beam

I have been using Fat Beam for sometime now, thinking of giving a set of Hi Beam a try.

Just wondering how similar they are with Fat Beams considering both are stainless steel strings, sound wise and feel wise.

Are they as flexible as the Sunbeam?

Thanks

I went from Hi beams to sunbeams. To me the Sunbeams are the best sounding strings I have played. The Sunbeams seam more flexible and warmer to me and they give me clarity and warmth at the same time.

The tone that I like to hear when i am playing alone is much different from the tone that sounds best in the mix with the band. Sunbeams on my passive P-bass give me the high fidelity over tones that I like to hear while remaining deep warm and thick for the bands live mix.

Absolutely agreed with you on the Sunbeam, I have a set on my MIM P bass, and does exactly what you have set. Warm and clear!!

Fat Beam has been for my 71' Jazz and my Fernandes LEB-J4 for sometime now, as I slap on both of them a lot. So thinking trying Hi Beam on either one of them for a change.

wel put it this way you arnt gonna hate them! I have gone from hi beams on my mex jazz to fat beams just to try them and they are similar in tone but there are suttle differences i think. I'm not sure how long fat beams last but i had my hi beams on for nearly i year and they sounded fine.
