DR Flats - experiences?

Tried a search, and poking around a few flat's threads and couldn't find much.

Anyone have any experience/comments? Thanks!

I currently have a set on my Dean Pace 4 EUB.

They're nice - nothing incredible though, IMO. Slightly darker in sound than D'Addario Chromes, but similar in tension. Nice, smooth feel to them. I've had them strung up now for a few months and I haven't experienced the nice mellowing process that you get with Chromes & TI's. They just sound... well, just slightly deader than originally (almost like rounds). Hard to explain...

Not too expensive (I paid 25$, I think?). Definitely worth a shot - to each his own!

I've got DR HI Beam flats on my p-bass. It took me a while to get used to the tone. I switched from rounds to flats. They have been on there for about 8 months now, and sound pretty good. They play better than any string I've ever played before though. Very Smooth.

If you ask 10 people about flats (any brand really) here you'll probably get 10 different answers. The DR's seemed to have settled in nicely on my p-bass though.

Thanks for the responses - I'm gonna give 'em a try, as I use DR's for all my roundwound needs.
