I do some slap and tap, so I appreciate the extra tightness of lo-riders myself. Plus, the lo-riders are very growly, which is something that I like. |

I really only dig them after ive broken then in a for a few days, then they hold that tone twice as long as any other string ive tried. I recently have put a set of the coated strings on my pbass. I think the coating dulls the strings just enough to sound like a broken in set of high beams. I probably like the coated ones the most now. |

They are stiff, hold up well to playing hard, and sound great.

I have been using Hi-Beam LR40-5s (.40-.120) but just changed to Low-Riders because i wanted a little extra tension. The Hi-Beams are very bright new, a little too bright. The low-riders are just right.
try the Hi-beams first,Then try the Low-riders and you can make a decision. |

I might try nickel Lo-Riders on my Precision next though. I've been going for a more gritty rock tone and the Sunbeams might be a little too warm. Great strings though.

They sound sweet. So if you like Nickel go with the Sunbeams. I don't think you could miss with either Hi-beams or Lo-riders though. Crap, I really didn't help any.

I really don't have anything clever or cool to put here.
Yeah!, It only took me 6 years to become a supporting member.
