I do. I contacted DR about this because that is one of those things that is debated on this site to no end (can flats be strung through body). DR said no problem, however I am going to try them through bridge on my P next time. I recently acquired a jazz that will only sting through bridge, and I like the tone much better that way, but it could be because of the particular bridge -IDK. I'm gonna try em both and see what I lie better.

Also - DR is usually really great about customer service. If you shoot them an email they will probably answer your questions directly. They have for me.

How do you like the tone from DR's flats?

I'm a big fan out of it right now, however I must tell you that I've only been using flats for the last year or so (I don't really know what others sound like compared other than fender). I made the change went I started playing in a band that did a lot of rockabilly, country, swing type of stuff. They give me a nice old school plug/thump P-bass sound - closer to the old stand up sound. I guess you could say classic Fender sound.

I just put a set on my jazz bass though, and they sound awesome - a lot brighter as one would expect with a jazz while still retaining the warmth of the flat.

The playability of them can't be beat though. They are silky smooth. The only other flats I had tried were Fenders, which I found to be unplayable when compared to the DR's. The tention just wasn't there on 'em - and they sounded a bit clanky for me.

I've tried a bunch of flats -- La Bellas, TIs, Fenders, and D'Addarios. DRs are next on my list. I like DR rounds (Hi-Beams) but didn't know until recently that they made flats as no stores seem to carry them. But with internet mail order that problem's solved.

I also have DR flats strung through the body on a Squier VM Tele. No problems.

Love the sound. Kept the bottom-end thump and actually cleaned-up the mids a little.
