Question DR Hi-Beams, GHS H3045, or other?

(Why I need heavy gauge strings:D'Addario EXL180)

(DR Hi-Beams = 50-70-90-110 / GHS H3045 = 50-70-95-115)

The bass that one of the set of strings in question is expected to go on is a Silvertone Revolver (P-Bass knockoff) with Fender '62 pickups in it. The strings are factory from Silvertone, so I don't know what kind of strings they are, but they're roundwound, and about a year old now. I'm looking for something that has a '60s rock kind of sound, but can tune down and have a metal sound. Something with a lot of low-mid, and a little brightness. I wouldn't like to pay that much for them, but since they're heavy gauge, it seems that I'll have to pay a minimum of $18, so I guess price doesn't matter; you can suggest any strings that aren't either of these two, if they sound like what I'm looking for.

Any, and all opinions on what I'm looking for, and the strings I posted are welcome.

Perhaps ... Measure the gauge of your current strings with callipers or a micrometer screw gauge

Honestly, I don't care what gauge my strings are. They feel like something around medium, and I would expect that they are since they're the factory strings.

Now, any opinions on the strings in question would be nice.
